رحماء بينهم
Merciful Between themselves:
عَن سُفْيَانَ بنَ حُسَينٍ قَالَ: (ذَكَرْتُ رَجُلًا بِسُوءٍ عِنْدَ إِياسَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، فَنَظَرَ فِي وَجْهِي، وَقَالَ: أَغَزَوتَ الرُّومَ؟! قُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَ: فَالسِّنْدُ وَالهِنْدُ وَالتُّرْكُ؟! قُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَ: أَفَتَسْلَمُ مِنْكَ الرُّومُ وَالسِّنْدُ وَالهِنْدُ وَالتُّرْكُ وَلَمْ يَسْلَمْ مِنْكَ أَخُوكَ المُسْلِمُ؟! قَالَ: فَلَمْ أَعُدْ بَعْدَهَا
Sufyan ibn Husayn narrated: “I mentioned a man in a negative light in front of Iyas ibn Mu’awiya. He looked at my face and said, ‘Have you waged war against the Romans?!’ I said, ‘No.’ He asked, ‘Against the Sind, the Hind, and the Turks?!’ I said, ‘No.’ He then said, ‘So, the Romans, the Sind, the Hind, and the Turks are safe from you, yet your Muslim brother is not?!’ After that, I never did it again.”
شعب الإيمان للبيهقي (٥/ ٣١٤)، تاريخ مدينة دمشق لابن عساكر (١٠/ ١٨)، البداية والنهاية لابن كثير (٩/ ٣٣٦).
هذا من فطنته وجميل نصحه، ولربما كان بعض الناس أقسى من ذلك “يقتلون أهل الإسلام ويدعون أهل الأوثان”
“This is from his intelligence and the beauty of his advice, and perhaps some people are even harsher than that: they kill the people of Islam while defending the people of paganism.”
، وقد وصف الله المؤمنين بقوله: { أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى ٱلْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ} [الفتح: 29] وقوله: { أَذِلَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَعِزَّةٍ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ} [المائدة: 54].
Indeed Allah described the believers in his statement:
“They are severe against disbelievers, merciful among themselves” [Quran 48:29],
and He said: “Humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers” [Quran 5:54].”
